Rohit Shetty is gearing up for the 4th Stallman of cop series. After Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar will be the next super cop in ‘Singham’ series. A glimpse of Akshay as Sooryavashi was caught in Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Simmba’ which released last year.
Akshay plays the role of an ATS chief and then who will be the villain of the film? After Sonu Sood, who played the villain in ‘Simmba’, Rohit Shetty has found his new villain in Abhimanyu Singh.
Abhimanyu who made his big screen debut with 2001 supernatural-thriller “Aks” was last seen as the main villain in Sridevi’s Mom. Abhimanyu who started the shooting of Sooryavashi said his character is “unpredictable and deadly”.
“Rohit sir liked my performance in 2017 Tamil film ‘Theeran’ and thought that I would fit the role of the baddie in ‘Sooryavanshi’,” Abhimanyu said in a statement.
“It’s an interesting role. Akshay sir and I have known each other for a while now and it has been a great shoot from the first day. It was a serious scene and we had to complete it in a day, which we did.
“It was lovely shooting with Akshay sir and Rohit sir made me feel as if we have known each other for years,” the actor said in a statement.
Actress Katrina Kaif will be seen as Akshay’s love interest in “Sooryavanshi” and this film will be their reunion after a decade. The movie also seen ‘Simmba’ actress Sara Ali Khan, and will see Neena Gupta essay Akshay’s mother.
The film’s team will reportedly head to Bangkok to shoot Akshay’s introductory sequence soon. They will also shoot in Hyderabad and Goa.
