Gautam Gambhir will contest election from BJP’s East Delhi, boxer Vijender Singh in rival team

Cricketer –turn-politician Gautam Gambhir is BJP’s candidate from the East Delhi constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha election. Gautam has replaced Maheish Girri who is recently BJP’s MP there.

On Monday, the BJP had released a list of six of the seven seats in the national capital in which it re-nominated four of its sitting lawmakers.

After the announcement of Gambhir’s candidature from BJP, the former cricketer is now going to speed up the campaign in his parliamentary constituency. In the same sequence he is going to do road shows in Delhi.

Gautam Gambhir will release road shows from Jagriti Enclave. He will file his nomination in Shastri Nagar DM office today.Gambhir will fight against Arvinder Singh Lovely of the Congress and Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

BJP state unit president Manoj Tiwari is again party’s candidate from Northeast Delhi against Former three-term Chief Minister and Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit.

Former Union Minister Ajay Maken will fight from the prestigious New Delhi seat and former MPs J.P. Agarwal and Mahabal Mishra have been named from Chandni Chowk and West Delhi constituencies, respectively. MP Minakshi Lekhi is pitted against AAP’s Brajesh Goel and Ajay Maken of the Congress from New Delhi seat.

Delhi Congress working president Rajesh Lilothia is the party’s candidate from the reserved seat of North West Delhi and boxer Vijender Singh has been declared the Congress candidate from South Delhi.
